Buttonhole Spacing Gauge

This expandable ruler allows you to space your buttons and buttonholes perfectly every time.

It stretches to a maximum of 3.5-inch spacing, with eight points. (If you are placing more than eight buttons, pleats or grommets, simply set the first eight and then move the gauge down, lining up the last two points with ones already marked.

The slots have internal measurements in 1/4-inch increments so that you can mark the length of your buttonholes - useful for those that are doing button holes by hand, or by machine without pre-programming. (This only applies if your holes are horizontal.)

These gauges are heavier than expected, and than others that I compared, so they are more likely to stay put as you mark or pin your garment.
